McKay, I also know that tension. Sometimes I am drawn to Luther and his dualist view on calling. Sometimes I am drawn to Assisi and his invitation to preach the Gospel "with words when necessary." But usually I'm drawn to Dash Incredible who said, "When everybody's special, nobody is." The idea of calling (as coming from the outside) and vocation (as coming from a more internal and circumstancial place) is very much at the fore of my thoughts regularly.

Thank you for sharing.

McKay:

I do not in any way want you to feel as though I am being atagonistic.

Worship is between me and God. I am drawn to worship God in Spirit and Truth. There may be times that I am burdened. There may be times when I am joyful. I can worship God as I look at the birds or a smile on a baby's face. I am not try to imply something that you are not, but I believe that you are talking about singing at a service or a corporate time of turning a congregations attention to God. I do believe that the gospel is an invitation to be real with God in worship. I can not just turn worship on and off at a certain time like on Sunday morning or when I am listening to a music leader. I believe worship takes place whenever and wherever I turn away from my self centeredness and towards God.

Sincerely,

Georgia
